Kindergarten Zoo Field Trip and Art Awareness Show

Kinley has had some really fun days this spring as we are nearing the end of Kindergarten. I can't even believe I just typed that.
 Crazy.
I got to go with her to the Dallas Zoo on her field trip and it was so fun!
We always go to the Fort Worth Zoo. I am not even sure if I've ever been to the Dallas Zoo in my life. But, apparently they have recently done massive renovations and I was so, so impressed with it!
I will definitely take the whole family back some day.
I know Ty would love the dinosaur exhibit they have and the sky monorail and the African Savannah exhibit with the giraffes, elephants and zebras is amazing to see.
I love getting to spend a day one-on-one with Kinley.
It is so special!
Our little group for the field trip

And they definitely have some great animal statues to climb on at the Dallas Zoo too

We also got to go one morning to the Kindergarten Art Awareness show to see all the art work Kinley has done each month.

Back in their class they presented their Zoo project to us.
They paired this project with our zoo field trip and all had animals to research on the iPads and observe at the zoo.
They made trifold presentations, diagramed their animals on the iPad, wrote down observations and research points and build environmental dioramas.
Here is Kinley with her shoebox diorama on her animal, the tiger.

We have LOVED Kindergarten so, so much.  I can't believe it is almost over.  So excited for the few events we have left like field day and the end of year ceremony! And I am SO ready for summer.  I can't wait to have Kinley back home with us everyday for a little while.

Family Fun Days - Thomas the Train and the Zoo

We had a couple of fun weekend family fun days in April.
I cherish and am very protective of time with just the five of us.
It is my favorite thing and I try to make it happen as much as possible.
Ty looked forward to the "Big Thomas" coming again to Grapevine Vintage Railroad for a full year since we went last year.
Also, Kinley missed out the first time so she really wanted to go this year.
We made it into a family affair and it was just the best time.
We took the earliest 9:00am Sunday morning train, then had brunch on Main Street with Honey & Boss and still made it to noon church!
 It was a great morning.
These kids could not have been happier.

They have so many other activities besides the train ride too and we couldn't thomas-it-up enough.

We randomly decided on a beautiful Saturday to brave the zoo. It was crowded and we couldn't even park in the parking lot and had to be across the street but, it is amazing how it didn't even feel crowded once we got inside.
There is so much to see.
We LOVE being members of the Fort Worth Zoo!

All kids are obsessed with statues.
If there is a statue, they are begging to pose with it.
I joined in on this one since I felt I resembled this momma kangaroo and with its baby joey.

I can't wait for the next family fun day!

Easter 2015

We had a great Easter this year!
I spent a lot of time at church singing.
I love singing on Easter.
The past couple years we have paired it with baptism sunday and it is just so moving and emotional to think about all those people committing to a life with Jesus on the day we celebrate his resurrection.
I love being a part of it.
Here is me and Ali in the green room.
It is always way more fun singing with a good friend because we spend a lot of time together over the weekend.

Best family pic we got at church Untitled Because of the early Sunday morning for me, we did Easter baskets on Saturday morning. And my kids were perfectly dressed in their amazing Mendy Kaye Designs pjs. These might have been my favorite so far.
I love pastels. Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled
We had our traditional Easter brunch over at Aunt Jan's house after church We hunted eggs and cuddled babies all afternoon.
 It was fantastic.
